Austek Personnel strictly abides by the National Privacy Principles established by the Privacy Act 1988.

Examples of types of Personal Information collected and held are as follows:

Information submitted by candidates for the purpose of seeking employment;

Performance appraisal information obtained from references;

Information about incidents in the workplace;

Information required for the purposes of taxation, superannuation contributions and salary;

Information submitted and obtained in relation to absences from work due to leave, illness or other causes;

Information obtained to assist in managing client and business relationships;

The Personal Information collected is held primarily for the following purposes:

Permanent, temporary and contract recruitment;

Performance appraisals;

Taxation, payroll processing and superannuation contributions;

OH&S compliance;

Workplace rehabilitation;

Testing or assessment;

General administration;

Disclosure:

Any personal information we collect will be disclosed for purposes directly related to the purposes for which it was collected (see above). Examples include but are not limited to:

Potential and actual clients;

Insurers, Superannuation funds, legislative bodies and authorities;

Austek Personnel administration staff;

Information may also be disclosed if required by law.

Access:

Subject to the exceptions listed in National Privacy Principle 6, you can gain access to the personal information we hold about you. If you wish to obtain access to your personal information please contact the Privacy Coordinator. Any applications for access will take up to two weeks to process due to the time needed to retrieve files from storage. Austek Personnel reserves the right to impose a moderate charge for providing access to your personal information.

You can make inquiries or complaints about Privacy matters to our Privacy Coordinator on 03 9576 0111. You can also make complaints to the Office of the Federal Privacy Commissioner.
